Choose to Believe – Part 3 By Greg Sanders
Believe Even When it Seems Too Late!
Luke 8:40 “So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. 41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, ‘Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.’ 50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.’ ”
Sometimes what you are praying about does not get better. Sometimes what you are praying about gets worse. Your need starts as a serious need and then gets into the realm of the impossible. That is exactly what happened. His need went from desperate to impossible. Word came that it was “too late.”
Have you ever felt your need was too big for God to meet? Or perhaps that it was simply too late for Jesus to intervene. It is never too late for Jesus to make a difference. When Jesus arrived on the scene after the funeral of Lazarus, His sisters said “Lord, if you’d been here, my brother would not have died.” But now you are too late. But He was not too late. It was not too late when the Hebrew boys were thrown into the fire. It was not too late when Peter was in prison. It was not too late when Jesus was in the grave. It is not too late for Jesus to change your situation. When it was too late Jesus gave Jarius a command, “Only believe.” When life screams that it’s too late, we can still choose to believe.
The same power that raised a dead girl can bring you out of your impossible situation.
Choose to believe even when it seems to late.
“I’m taking the Lord at His Word, and I’m trusting Him to prove His Word. It’s kind of like putting all your eggs in one basket; but we’ve already put our trust in Him for salvation; so why not do it as far as our life is concerned?” –Ed McCully
Today’s Challenge: Is there something that the enemy has convinced you it is too late for your life to change? Choose to believe. Believe Him for the impossible.
Blessings,
Greg
