In the Mean Time
By Greg Sanders
The promise of “some day” is greater than the pain of today. The glory of serving God is guaranteed to come one day. However, in the mean time, you may have to live through some non-glorious days.
Matthew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
The righteous did not shine forth until the weeds were removed. Don’t be discouraged if it seems your goods works, your faith, your convictions, or your obedience is not being rewarded. Remember the day will come when it will be worth it all. Romans 8:18 expresses it like this; “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.”
Today’s Challenge: Don’t be overwhelmed if you feel like your perseverance is not being rewarded in the moment. The moment is coming when you will shine forth. In the mean time, keep planting, keep growing, and keep preparing for when He comes. Some of the most productive things we do seem unproductive in the moment that we do them. If you keep being faithful, the Son will shine on your life.
Blessings,
