Stay on the Right Road

Stay on the Right Road

By Greg Sanders

Faithfulness is the road between your promise from God and your promotion. So when you don’t know what to do, just stay on the right road.

Luke 2:41 says, Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom.” It had been nearly a decade since Mary and Joseph had experienced any supernatural vision or instruction concerning Jesus. All they knew was that they had been promised that He would save His people from their sins. They knew that He was the Messiah. But there were years of ordinary living that took place before another confirmation came.

What do you do when you have been waiting for a long time for a promise of God to be fulfilled? What do you do when you have been laboring for the Lord without seeing the results you have been seeking? Stay on the right road. Mary and Joseph did not know the specifics about what to do so they employed the best thing they could do. They stayed faithful. Luke reminds us that Mary and Joseph practiced faithfulness to the house of God. There had to be moments when they wondered if their efforts were working. There had to be moments when they questioned if what had been promised would really come to pass. But above all of their questions they faithfully served God. When you don’t know what to do next, stay faithful to the last thing God told you to do. Stay on the right road. Stay faithful to God.

Today’s Challenge: As you consider how to make 2016 greater than 2015, remember that promotion comes from staying on the right road. Faithfulness always precedes greatness. Make a determined decision that in 2016 you will be faithful to God. You will be glad you did.

Blessings,

Greg
