John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

Life is full of choices. Some of them are huge and others seem minute. I have reached periods of my life where all I wanted to do was to go a few days without having to make any choices. Examining the best course of action over and over again can wear you down and wear you out if you attempt to do it all on your own. I have discovered that if you will listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, you take much of the stress of these choices out of your life.

The Holy Spirit is active in the life of every believer to help you with the ten thousand choices that come to your life everyday. This is how He helps:

• The Holy Spirit is a guide. A guide does not force you to go a specific direction but he will tell you which is the best direction. Like the GPS device in your car or own your phone, He speaks but He does not force. Remember when the Holy Spirit is guiding you that He does not have to make sense to be leading you in the right direction.

• The Holy Spirit guides you into all truth. Truth is not a relative term. However, it does seem that way often times. There are so many varying opinions and stories about the facts of any situation that it is helpful when you can talk to someone who knows the truth. The Holy Spirit knows the truth of every situation you will ever face and He can reveal it to you. You don’t have to live a life full of suspicion or paranoia; you can simply listen to your guide. The Holy Spirit will speak to you the truth of all things if you will listen.

• The Holy Spirit guides you into the best future. The Holy Spirit wants to speak to you today regarding the choices that will bring the best future and that is His will for your life. The Holy Spirit will guide you with still small voices. He will guide you with peace and sometimes by withholding His peace. He will poke, prod, and put strategic people in your path to guide you in His will. Don’t ignore His leading, His way is the best way. I am reminded of what my district leader Bro. Larry Moore says from time to time. He says, “I am glad God never says oops.” God knows the future and He is instructing the Holy Spirit to guide you to make the right choices so that you will be ready for every good work He has for you.

Today’s Challenge: Don’t stress over all the choices that you have to make today. Don’t leave out the best resource you have for making decisions today. The Holy Spirit wants to guide you. His way is the best way. Pray today that He will lead you through every conversation, every choice, and every chance you have to bring honor to Him.
