What Makes You Different? Part 3
By Greg Sanders

Daniel 6:3 “Then Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.”

Do you think a person’s faith should impact and influence those around them in the work place? Daniel’s faith certainly influenced those around him. The Spirit of God was so active in Daniel’s life that even a heathen king could recognize that there was something different about Daniel. Some people say that you should check your faith at the door of your work place. However, I want to encourage you that your Christian faith should highly influence all activity of your life.

The reality is that the darker a place you work and the darker the culture of your surroundings; the more the people of God should shine. Daniel was serving in a Godless culture, but instead of his faith going dormant, his faith shined brighter than ever before. Daniel’s faith was not a liability, but rather served as the difference maker between him and his unbelieving counterparts.

As a believer, your faith should make you different. Your faith should catch the attention of an unbelieving world because there is a better spirit operating in you then there is operating in the world.
1 Peter 3:15 says, “Instead, ‘exalt the Messiah’ as Lord in your lives. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you to explain the hope you have.” The Spirit of God operating in you will open the door for you to proclaim the greatness of God in the most unexpected places. This occurred in Daniel’s life and it can in yours also when you determine to allow God’s Spirit to make a difference in you.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that the Spirit of God desires to operate in you as a believer. His Spirit will speak to you about the decisions and opportunities in your life. Make choices today that are driven by His Spirit and do your best to allow Him to shine through your life.
