Never Stop Learning
By Greg Sanders
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that has nothing to be ashamed of, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Congratulations to all of the graduates this year! The next few days will be filled with a different school graduation almost every night. This is a huge accomplishment for these students and should be honored by us all. One thing I have learned is that graduations are more like mile markers than they are a destination. Learning continues long after graduation. The only question is how systematic and strategic will your post graduation learning be?
There are still more tests to take. Life has a way of exposing what you learned or have yet to learn. That is why Paul told Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God. Paul knew that without a consistent plan to grow in his faith, Timothy would experience the shame of being unprepared for life’s great test.
Learning the things of God is never an accomplishment to put under your belt, but rather must be a continual habit of putting His wisdom in your heart. When you regularly digest God’s word, it transforms your life and it prepares your life for the test ahead. From time to time life throws tests at you. In high school, they were usually announced ahead. In life, seldom do you ever see the test coming. Paul instructs Timothy to prepare today for the test that will come later.
Today’s Challenge: Develop a plan to always keep growing in the things of God. The Holy Spirit knows what challenges are coming and will prepare you if you listen to Him. You never graduate from the school of the Spirit. |
