School is in Session
By Greg Sanders

School is in session! This is not the news that students and teachers want to talk about this time of year. Trust me, I am married to a teacher. Most students and educators are counting down the days until summer break arrives. Did you know as a believer in Jesus that you are in a spiritual school? Jesus said in John 14:26 that “The Helper is the Holy Spirit. The Father will send Him in My place. He will teach you everything and help you remember everything I have told you.” No matter the time of year, school is always in session for those who are listening to the Holy Spirit. He will help guide you to the answers of life’s questions and through the unknown seasons of life.

Did you know that the Holy Spirit is trying to teach you something? We spend a lot of our time and energy trying to figure out how to get through certain seasons of life when it is very probable that the Holy Spirit is trying to teach you something through every season of life. At the university I attended, I learned the hard way that if you do not sufficiently pass a class then you have to re-take it in order to graduate. The same is true in the school of the Spirit. Many people go through the same seasons, same heartaches, and same issues over and over again because they are always looking for a way out instead of learning what the Spirit wants them to learn during that time. The reality is that the quickest way to get out of a season and stay out is to keep your eyes open and your mind attentive to what the Spirit is saying to you.

Today’s Challenge: Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. He desires to teach you today. He will speak to you though the Word of God and whisper to you His distinct direction for your life. Make a habit of listening to the one who has the answer.
