Your Impossibility Is No Match For Jesus

By Greg Sanders

Have you ever faced a problem that seemed impossible? We all do. We all face seasons and situations that seem impossible to overcome. Jesus met a man who was so far gone that the only help people could offer was to try to chain him down in order to prevent him from harming himself or others. Even these attempts to help proved to be unfruitful. Mark 5:4 describes his condition, “For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.”

All of the help people could offer was of no help to this man. He was a living example of an impossible situation. Every time someone passed by him they were reminded of two great facts. One: he needed help. Two: there was no help available. No one could help him. Perhaps you have felt like those two facts have applied to your life at one time or another. Remember when nothing humanly speaking is helpful that you have another resource. There is a help greater than human help. Remember that your impossibility is no match for the power of Jesus. The help of Jesus came into contact with the helplessness of this man and changed his life forever.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that your impossibility is no match for the power of Jesus. Just as Jesus transformed this man’s life, He can also transform yours. Bring your impossibility to Jesus today in prayer. Listen and respond to what He says and He will lead you to freedom.
