God Has a Plan to Recover Your Losses
By Greg Sanders

2 Samuel 14:14 All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.

It is impossible to gather water once it spills on the ground. Even the portion that is salvaged is tainted and unusable. What a picture of our lives when we sin, which we all do. When we sin, the potential, the purpose, and the promise of our lives spills out on the ground like water. It becomes impossible to gather it all up again. The most effective thing that can be done is to sweep it out so it does not become a trip hazard or liability for others.

Thankfully, God can do what we cannot do. He can gather what has been spilled. He can purify and use what others would call permanently contaminated and worthless. If you feel like your life has been spilled out on the ground, then there is good news. Turn it over to Jesus and he will devise a way back to health. The truth? He already has.

Today’s Challenge: Don’t believe that your failure is permanent. God can clean up and use what seems to be too far gone. Obey His word step-by-step and watch as He restores what has been lost.
