He Is In It With You
By Greg Sanders
Psalm 94:16-19 Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.(MSG)
Recently, the big news in our area was that there was an earthquake that shook portions of four states. The damage was minimal but it was a wake up call for many to realize that this part of the world also has to deal with earthquakes. No matter what part of the world you live in, earthquakes will find you. At this point I am not talking about literal earthquakes, but I am talking about things that rock you to your core. There is no amount of money, prestige, precaution, or preparation you can possess to eradicate all problems from your life.
The good news is that the best time to discover the presence of Jesus in a real way is the moment your world is being rocked. Psalm 94 reminds you that it is in the midst of severe trials that we discover the help you have in God. If the Psalmist would have never experienced his difficulty, he may have never discovered the help he had in God. The same is true in your life. When things get shaky, you can be sure that the one person who will not be shaken from your life is Jesus. No matter what life takes you through you can be sure He is in it with you. C.S. Lewis once said, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, but shouts in our pains.”
Today’s Challenge: Realize that no matter how much chaos is going on in your life today that Jesus is in it with you. Call on Him and you will discover His presence in the middle of your storm. |
