God’s Word Works
By Greg Sanders

Isaiah 55:10 “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth.
They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. 11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

God’s word works every time, everywhere, and for everyone. There is power in the God-breathed words contained in the Bible. In the U.S., the average household has four Bibles. I know my household has many more copies of God’s word than the average. However, it is not the ownership of God’s word that brings power to our lives. The application and revelation comes from allowing God’s word to speak to our lives as we invest time in study of His word.

Consider these things regarding your relationship with God’s word:

God’s word works every time. God’s word is an eternal strategy. His word works every time. In the information age that we live in there is always this search for the newest most efficient way to live our lives. However, though the truths in God’s word are eternal, they are also the most practical strategy for living your life to the fullest today. God’s word has no expiration dates or deadlines. The word works today.

God’s word works everywhere. The word of God works everywhere despite demographic make up or cultural norms. The word of God can work in the midst of freedom or the under the pressure of communism. The word of God brings freedom to the slave and purpose to the free. Everywhere the word of God is sent it always brings life change.

God’s word works for everyone. The word of God is exclusive in its path to salvation, but it is inclusive in its invitation to life. Your life is not the exception for God’s word working. His promises are for you and your family. You can invite the blessing of God into your life today by embracing the truth of God’s word.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that God works through His word. The activity of God in your life is directly tied to your connectivity to His word. You greatly limit the work that God desires to do in you when you distance yourself from His word. His word is the strategy for life change. Go to the word today and respond to it in prayer. Allow the word of God to work in you.
