Never Stop Producing Fruit!
By Greg Sanders

Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed are those who trust in the lord and have made the lord their hope and confidence. 8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

Never stop producing fruit! That sounds like a command, but it is more than that; it is actually a promise. Most fruit is relegated to being harvested in certain seasons of the year. There are seasons of planting, seasons of growing, and finally the season of harvest. Harvest season is the most exciting season because you get to see the fruit of your labors. You can finally see that your work was not in vain. God tells Jeremiah that those who trust in the Lord will move into a realm of operation where the fruit of their life is not relegated to a certain season of their life. God says that they can produce fruit their whole life.

Humanly speaking, we often think of a person’s fruitfulness being confined to certain seasons as well. An NFL player may retire while he is in his twenties. A baseball player will most likely retire in his thirties, and even most professional golfers move onto the senior tour when they are fifty. There is an expectation that fruitfulness has an expiration date. It’s not so in God’s Kingdom. As long as you are placing your trust in the Lord, He can still produce fruit in your life.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that the fruitfulness of your life is not confined to your current season or current location. Every moment you place your trust in the Lord is a moment that your life can produce lasting fruit. Trust the Lord today through obedience and watch as He uses your life to produce lasting results.
