Are You in the Right Place?
By Greg Sanders

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

The steps of the righteous are ordered by God.” I have used that verse to encourage myself many times but sometimes I forget that if God is really putting order to my steps, then that also means He has a plan for my current place as well. Have you discovered that divine placement does not always feel like divine placement? Being in the right place at the right time may feel like being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

In Genesis 50:19, Joseph said to his brothers, “I am in the place of God.” I am sure you know Joseph’s story. He was sold into slavery by his brothers, lied on, and imprisoned by his master, and then forgotten in an Egyptian prison. The place of God felt more like a prison cell, more like servant’s quarters, and more like a death trap long before it ever felt like the place of God. There is a great lesson we must learn about our lives. The place of God does not always immediately feel like the place of God. It may first seem isolated, impossible, and incomprehensible to imagine how it is part of God’s plan. However, you can be sure His presence is with you in every place. You will eventually find that any place can be the place of God. Remember that as a believer, your steps are ordered by God the Father. That means He can bring peace out of the chaos of your present season.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that change is not always found in moving to a different place, a different season, or doing life with different people. Sometimes change comes by recognizing that God does not have to transport us in order to transform our life. He can make any place a place that is marked by His presence. Ask God today to allow you to see His plan, participate in His purpose, and sense His presence right where you are today.
