Christmas Priorities
By Greg Sanders

Luke 2:15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

The Christmas season is notorious for being a time of business. People spend much of the season running across town and often running across the country to be with the ones they love. In the middle of all the hustle it is easy to miss the point of the season. The shepherds had plenty of things going on already when they saw the angels appear to them. They had responsibilities and plans of their own, but they understood that what had taken place must take priority over everything.

This Christmas season make time to celebrate the most important part of the season. Jesus has come to earth to take away the sins of all people. God has come to dwell among His people. The shepherds found this and so much more when they sought the Savior. The same is true for us today. When you make seeking Jesus a priority, you always find what you seek and so much more.

Today’s Challenge: Make seeking the Savior a priority this Christmas season. Don’t let the business detour you from the greatest priority of the season.
