Maturity Requires Movement
By Greg Sanders

Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men.

When Jesus wanted to develop a group of world changes, He did not tell the disciples to stay and study; He commanded them to go and follow. These immature, inexperienced and under qualified men became world changes as they learned on the job and the journey. As they moved step by step with Jesus their lives were transformed by what they heard and saw. Somewhere along the journey believers have believed a lie that superior Spiritual achievement is necessary before doing anything for God. On the contrary, it is as we allow God to use us just as we are that He begins to mature us, shape us and develop us into the people He ordained us to be.

Don’t spend your whole life only learning theory; step out and trust God today. It is in the shadow of following Jesus that the theology you read about comes to life. It is in the process of obeying HIs word and applying His instruction that real maturity occurs. You are called to display the heart of God to this world. However, this can only be achieved as you put action to your faith. When you begin to move in obedience to Christ, He changes you and uses you to change the world

Today’s Challenge: Don’t spend your whole life taking in information without allowing it to transform your actions. Jesus called the disciples to serve and follow before He educated or qualified them to lead. Step out and follow Jesus today, a new revelation for your life is just beyond the next step of obedience.
