Shatter the hope of the enemy
By Greg Sanders

Acts 16: 16 One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future. She earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes. 17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” 18 This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her. 19 Her masters’ hopes of wealth were now shattered, so they grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace.

Most Christians live with a real recognition that the enemy is out to shatter the hope in their lives. You know that the enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy everything about the life we desire. On your good days you remember that the backside of John 10:10 promises that you can have life despite the devils intentions. Many days believers whole focus is on playing defense against the attacks of the enemy. However, did you know that there resides in you the power to shatter the hope of the enemy? You don’t have to live your whole life on defense.

The enemy loves to exploit people for his own purposes. When you as a believer extend the freedom of the gospel to a person who is lost, you are shattering the hope of destruction that the enemy had for that person. Each time you share the liberating power of Jesus with someone, you are shatter the grip the devil has on their life and making room for the grace of God to be poured into their life.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that you can shatter the hope of the enemy. Enter your workplace, your school and your day with the intention of shattering the hopes of the enemy today by sharing the hope of Jesus.
