One Practice That Will Transform Your Spiritual Life Forever
By Greg Sanders
Psalm 16:8I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
One of the greatest and fastest ways a person can grow their faith and gain Spiritual depth is to continually set the Lord before them. This one practice will alter how you act, what you see, what you expect, and how you feel as you go through the journey of life. Simply said, that means to recognize that “God is with you.” God is with us. That is what the Angel told Mary and that is what the coming of Jesus instituted. Why do we have a hard time believing that Jesus can save us from our sins and yet not recognize He is with us wherever we are? He does both. This discipline of recognizing His presence with you will speed your growth and desire for more of Him. Over the next few days, I want to share with you how you can continually set the Lord before you. Here is the first one.
In order for this one practice to transform your life, you must be intentional. Keeping God always before you does not just happen. The reason so many people do not see their lives change by applying this scripture is simply because few people actually apply it to their lives. We often fail at the execution stage and therefore stay the same. To “set the Lord continually before you” takes an intentional, determined decision to do so. Life will attempt to busy out, cram out, and shout out this resolve. The presence of other things and other people will drawn out the intention you had to be mindful of God throughout your day.
Begin to set the Lord before you by greeting Him in the morning before your feet ever hit the floor and then throughout the day, recognize His presence is with you. You can recognize His presence through moments of worship, moments of prayer, and by taking a moment and considering His input in the multitudes of decisions you make each day. Intentionally drawing Him into your choices and your plans will cause an awareness that many people never discover.
Today’s Challenge: Realize that God truly is with you everywhere you go. That fact can become transformative in nature when you allow it to impact your day. |
