One Practice That Will Transform Your Spiritual Life Forever – Part 2
By Greg Sanders

The one practice that will transform your Spiritual life forever is the practice of keeping the Lord continually before you. This is a practice that the Psalmist mentions and you can also see practiced in the life of Jesus. I want to remind you that this principle must be practiced continually.

You must keep the Lord continually before you.
Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

David said that this is a continual practice. This is not a one-and-done thing. Don’t get me wrong, I like one-and-done things. I like the idea of a weight loss pill. You just swallow it and you are instantly 10 pounds lighter. But setting the Lord before you is more like a diet than it is a pill. You have to continually practice it for it to have impact.

That means I can’t just relegate this practice to morning or evening or to Sundays and Wednesdays. He must always be before me.

We have a video monitor in our daughter’s room so that we can look and listen to her while she is sleeping. If we hear her make a noise or cry, we know about it. We can look and listen. When I go to sleep at night I put that monitor right beside my bed and I turn up the volume so that even when I am asleep she is always before me. In the same way, we must continually set the Lord before us. We must be listening to His voice and looking for His movements.

Today’s Challenge: Practice keeping the Lord continually before you throughout your day today. I hear a lot of emphasis on having a prayer time and a devotion time. Those times are paramount, but do not allow them to be limitations on your awareness of God and His presence.
