Determine to Praise
By Greg Sanders

Psalm 146:1 Praise the Lord! Let all that I am praise the Lord. 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.

Many people believe that worship and praise is a direct response to the current conditions of life. When things are great, when they experience success or when the weather is right, their response is to praise. However, when things go wrong or when their team loses this mindset is certain that there is nothing to worship God about.

The reality is that true worship and praise is not based on what we see, feel or experience. Rather, the correct heart of worship is a response to the unchanging, all powerful God that created all that we see. He is worthy of our worship no matter the current condition of our life. Your worship must not be a conditional response to circumstances. Instead, it must be a continual devotion to Him. Such devotion comes from a determined decision similar to the Psalmist “I will praise the Lord as long as I live, I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.

The Psalmist realized that life will not always be great. However, the greatness of God does not change.

Today’s Challenge: Determine to give God praise and worship from your life now and forever.
