Why Follow Jesus? Part 1
By Greg Sanders

Follow Jesus because the best way to live life on earth is by following Him. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I have come so that you may have life and life to the full.” Jesus came to provide a life to people that was previously unavailable. To not follow Jesus means that you are denying all the rights, privileges, and blessings that His coming to earth secured for you. If you could have real life without Jesus, He would not have come to earth or gone through the process. The truth is any life without Jesus is a wasted life.

Sometimes we get backwards when it comes to sharing our faith. We think people would not want to know about the life we have found in Christ. I believe it is because we forget that the best way to live this life is for Jesus. There are so many heartbreaking situations that can be sidestepped if you simply live for Jesus. Not only are there heartaches that could be avoided, there is a present help from the Father in the middle of your heartache that you are ignoring if you’re not following Jesus. Following Jesus connects you to the supernatural power of God for your present circumstance.

Sometimes serving Jesus seems hard. You can be certain it will not always be an easy journey. Proverbs 13:15 says, “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” Serving Jesus may be hard, but living without Him is harder. I am 100% convinced that the best way to live this life is to live it for Jesus.

Today’s Challenge: Remember that you lose nothing when you follow Jesus. Mark 10:29 reminds us that Jesus said, “29 “Truly I tell you, “- no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for My sake and for the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundredfold in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, along with persecutions—and to receive eternal life in the age to come.
