How to Find New Strength
By Greg Sanders
Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. 30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Seasons of powerlessness come to everyone at some point in life. If everything in your life is easy, under control, and stress free then you get a pass on diving into this scripture today. However, at some point, everyone gets to the end of their own strength. Isaiah said that even youth get tired. I have caught myself looking at my daughter thinking that I wished I had her energy, but even her energy eventually wanes. When your strength runs out, remember God has help for you.
Choose to trust in the Lord. When you are at the end of yourself realize that you are at the beginning of God’s ability to help you and empower you. When you run out of your knowledge, you are at the perfect place to either choose to trust in God or to keep acting in your own weakness. Remember that your weakness applied over a lifetime will never accomplish what God’s strength can do in one moment. Don’t waste your life trusting in your ability; choose to trust in God’s help.
Trusting God means moving forward. Waiting on God is not a passive activity. Waiting on God means responding and acting in unison with His Spirit. That might mean slowing down or it may mean speeding up. Either way, it requires trust to stay in step with Him. As you choose to stay in step with Him He will give you the ability to soar above your problems. Run through your trials and walk with persistence the journey He has for you to complete.
Today’s Challenge: Remember that the overwhelming difficulty you face is an opportunity to trust God and discover His strength like never before. |
