God is Leading You with Kindness
By Greg Sanders
Hosea 11:4 “I led Israel along with my ropes of kindness and love. I lifted the yoke from his neck, and I myself stooped to feed him.”
When I think of leading someone being led along with a rope, I think of a prisoner being led to jail. Maybe I watched too many cowboy movies as a kid. Ropes are often used to constrain people, but God uses “ropes of kindness” to free people. The Lord paints a picture. He says “ropes of kindness” have been attached to your life in order to draw you into a greater knowledge of Him. Romans 2:4 says, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”
God has put ropes of His kindness in your life to draw you out of your low level living and into the perfect plan He has for your life. God’s kindness is not permission to continue in a lifestyle contrary to His word, but instead an invitation to partake of abundant living that only comes through Christ. The kindness you have experienced up to this point is only a taste of the true treasure that God wants to deposit into your life. Respond to the drawing of the Holy Spirit.
John 6:44 says that “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.” God is drawing you with His grace, His mercy and His kindness. Don’t ignore His pull today.
Today’s Challenge: Don’t ignore God kindness or His Spirit drawing you. Cherish it and respond to His leading in your life. Pray regarding where God’s kindness is leading you. |
