Don’t Walk in the Dark
By Greg Sanders

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Did you know that approximately 50% of all injuries happen in your home? I believe that because I have injured myself multiple times walking through the house in the dark while trying to find a light switch. The most familiar steps and places can be dangerous actions when taken in the dark.

When you choose to neglect your study of God’s Word, you are choosing to walk in the dark. If the Word of God is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path, then avoiding His word means to walk without a lamp and a light. How many injuries in your life could have been prevented if you had only kept your path illuminated by the Word of God?

As you end the first week of the New Year, make it a priority to keep your life lit with the Word of God.

Today’s Challenge: Realize that a failure to prioritize the Word of God will create a void of strength and direction. This will leave you susceptible to many problems that could be avoided. Decide today to illuminate your life with the Word of God.
