People are ready to hear the gospel.
By Greg Sanders

John 4:34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

There is a myth today that people are becoming less and less interested in God. However, if you turn on your television, there has never been a time when people were more intrigued with the supernatural. Notice the listing of television shows; people are interested in spiritual things here on earth and in the afterlife. I recently heard a statistic that stated over half of all Americans have had at least on consultation with a psychic. This activity is evidence people are searching for the life that only Jesus can offer.

You would be surprised how many people in your life are searching for the hope you have in Christ. Jesus told His disciples to open their eyes and take notice that people are ready to receive the good news. This fact is no less true in 2017. There must be a renewed application of this command to look the fields; they are ripe for the harvest.

Today’s Challenge: Don’t allow your familiar routines and interactions blind you to the opportunity that you have in Christ. People are hungry for the real life you enjoy. Pray today that God will open your eyes to the possibilities that surround you.
